General Information about the photographers, the equipment we use and how to get reprints.

John van den Hengel was the main photographer on this event, and I (Andreas Berglund, webmaster of this site) drove the boat to get the best possible shots and managed not to get hit or be to much in the way for the people racing. I  also took a fair amount of shots. Both of us use Nikon professional level equipment (Nikon D2X, D200, lenses like the 70-200mm VR, 200-400mm VR, 300mm F2.8 AF-S II, etc.), and have both invested in excess of $25,000 each in our equipment and countless hours learning and sitting in front of our computers refining our images.

To get images of this quality, it is not feasible to use a simple $299 point and shoot camera. These images can be printed in very large fornat if anyone would be interested. We spent two full days on the water in my boat the Merry Gwen, and I have spent two days after refining just my parts of the pictures. John has probably spent more time then me.

Sales of images:
We sold on behalf of the MBYC 5x7 images for $3.00 each, after the first day's races, at the MBYC Clubhouse (costs $1.00 per print for the printing and $2.00 to the MBYC, and we photographers donated use of our images for nothing for the clubs benefit.)

If anyone wants more images send me an email, with the file name of the images you want (att he bottom of each image and we can discuss what images and sizes you would like to have and prices. Many of these images are shot in 10+ megapixel shots so we can print very large if someone would want it. Typical print sizes are 5x7, 8x12 or 12, 11x145, 12x18 and upwards. If anyone wants to use these images for commercial use with for instance a sponsor, send us an email to discuss.
